Competency Development Through Sports and Nature-Based Activities

  • Facilitate participants to directly experience various sports and outdoor-based methods and techniques;
  • Support the competency development of participants through sports and outdoor activities, focusing specifically on teamwork, problem-solving, risk-taking, and communication;
  • Provide participants with the opportunity to overcome the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic by allowing them to learn alongside people from other countries in outdoor settings; empower participants to increase their self-confidence and self-esteem, adopt an active lifestyle, and take an active role in their communities;
  • Equip participants with information about the Erasmus+ Program and provide them with the opportunity to brainstorm for future local and international projects and actions;
  • Support the sharing of best practices among organizations and encourage organizations to include sports and outdoor activities in their work with young people
  • Motivate young people who are not directly involved in youth exchanges to participate in sports and outdoor activities and capture the activities of the youth exchange through a series of short videos created by directly involved participants.
  • They will develop competencies, particularly teamwork, problem-solving, communication in a foreign language, cultural awareness, social and citizenship skills, and taking initiative;
  • They will have direct opportunities to experience sports and outdoor-based learning and reflect on its impact on their development;
  • They will become more aware of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on them and will be equipped with ideas, tools, and strategies to cope with them;

  • They will become more open-minded to working with people from different countries and backgrounds;
  • They will increase their knowledge about the Erasmus+ Program and become ready to transform their ideas into local and international initiatives;
  • They will enhance their understanding of the YouthPass, a concept of recognition of non-formal learning, and particularly increase their “learning to learn competences.”
